Meeting the needs of women veterans and improving their engagement is an ongoing process that requires continuous review, reflection and evaluation to identify what is working and where improvements can be made across services. To avoid duplication of effort, greater mutual awareness between support services may be beneficial. Importantly, addressing the needs of women veterans requires the active involvement of women veterans.
Services may wish to consider the following questions:
- What does your organisation currently provide for women veterans?
- Why do you offer these services and have you asked women veterans what they want?
- How do these services benefit women veterans and support their needs?
