This short, self-guided course will introduce you to some key information about UK women veterans.

Women have served in the UK Armed Forces for many decades, and women veterans of all ages and differing lengths of service are located across the country. This course explores some of what makes women veterans different from veteran men. It outlines some of the experiences to which they may have been uniquely exposed or at greater risk of experiencing such as ‘military sexual trauma’, and the possible mental and wider health consequences. It also explores recent evidence about how women perceive health and support services from a veteran perspective. Each section concludes with a short true or false quiz.

All the information is based on current academic and applied research, and is presented in relation to women veterans of the UK Armed Forces residing in the UK.
