This course was originally delivered as a two-hour live workshop session (held on multiple dates between October 2024 and March 2025). The content has been adapted into this online self-guided course. While condensed, it includes all essential material from the live sessions. The average time to complete the course is 30 minutes.
The course will recap the unique military context of military sexual trauma and some of the considerations for service providers. It will explore how to promote engagement with services amongst women veterans, discuss questions of assessment and disclosure around military sexual trauma, and outline possible treatments, issues and adaptations that may be beneficial.
All the information is based on current academic and applied research, and is presented in relation to women veterans of the UK Armed Forces residing in the UK.
Each section includes a short True/False quiz to consolidate key learning points. Additional resources can be found at the end of the course.
